I am a PhD student at the department of computer science at the University of Rhode Island in the area of cyber security. I received my M.S. in Computer Science from Queens University in Canada. I studied Islamic law, Quranic exegesis and spirituality under renowned scholars around the globe. I worked in various academic institutions in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East as a lecturer, education consultant and as a researcher in IT security. I am a URI Chaplain and the Imam of the Muslim Community Center of Kingston. I am participating in the Summer Nonviolence and Peace Institute at the University of Rhode Island to engage the Muslim community with the nonviolence training, to help promote nonviolence practices in the Middle East current activism. Also, to acquire a deeper understanding of the Kingian philosophy for future writing on the topic of Islam and Kingian nonviolence.
