Biography

Megumi Sinniah is pursuing an MA in International Relations at the University of Rhode Island. She is also a teaching assistant at the Department of Political Science and a research assistant at SSIREP (the Social Science Institute for Research, Education, and Policy). Although she grew up in Missouri, she was born in Japan to an Indian father and a Japanese mother. She says she is “excited to work with the CIRIGHTS project at the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies!” She sincerely believes in the power of nonviolent resistance and mentions that “it is an honor to contribute to a dataset that prioritizes social justice and human rights.”
