(Level I – 2014) URI PSY478: Nonviolent Conflict Reconciliation
(Level II – 2015)
I am currently in my third year studying finance at the University of Rhode Island. I am also the treasurer of Student Nonviolence Coalition and NAACP and a contributing news reporter for the school newspaper. I am originally from China and have lived in Rhode Island for nearly six years. I am a certified Level I nonviolence trainer and a recipient of the 2013 Civic Leadership Award. I have always been fascinated by the positive impacts that nonviolence leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi have made on the society. Their leadership, courage, and compassion have always been a source of motivation and encouragement. One goal that I have is to become someone who can offer help and happiness to others. I hope to receive nonviolence training so I can enhance my abilities to apply peace and compassion in a more effective and influential way.
