The Libraries, Leadership, and Transforming Communities track prepares graduates to have the management and leadership knowledge and skills necessary to be competitive in the marketplace and obtain positions in libraries and information organizations such as director/assistant director, department head/manager, project manager, and marketing coordinator, among many others. In this track, students will:

• broaden their knowledge of ethics, values, and foundational principles of the library and information professions and professional associations;
• develop an understanding for the necessity of community outreach, advocacy, and the formation of strategic alliances;
• gain an appreciation for, and openness to, the opinions and skills of colleagues and being able to work with others to achieve a common goal;
• hone their personal philosophy of the management of libraries, innovative and ethical community leadership, and library advocacy.
