If you are a STEM professional or recent grad, the URI Quantum Computing Graduate Certificate can take you and your career into the future. URI’s unique 4-course, 12-credit quantum computing program offers you grounding in quantum information science and a gateway into the quantum industry workforce.
Certificate graduates will gain a foundational understanding of quantum computing, the practical knowledge to apply and design quantum algorithms, and a fundamental understanding of more general aspects of quantum sensing, teleportation, cryptography, circuitry, and communications.

Earning a Quantum Computing Graduate Certificate opens doors to cutting-edge career opportunities in technology and research. With this credential, you can pursue roles in quantum software development, quantum algorithm design, and quantum hardware engineering. It positions you at the forefront of innovation, making you a valuable asset in academia, industry, and government sectors.
- Quantum Computing Specialist – Provides expert advice to businesses and organizations on integrating quantum computing technologies into their operations and assists in identifying potential use cases and developing strategies for quantum adoption.
- Quantum Software Developer – Designs, develops, and optimizes software applications and algorithms that run on quantum computers. Responsibilities also includes collaboration with research scientists to translate theoretical models into practical solutions.
- Quantum Algorithm Researcher – Conducts research on new quantum algorithms, improve existing ones, and publishes findings in scientific journals. Responsibilities also includes working on solving complex computational problems using quantum computing principles.
