The URI Police Department Student Advisory Council brings together URI students and the URI Police Department to exchange ideas and information on continuous improvement of community policing at URI. The Student Advisory Council acts in a proactive manner to address community concerns directly related to the quality of life and examines/monitors current and proposed policing programs with the main priorities of reducing crime through a community policing philosophy. The Student Advisory Council recognizes and embraces inclusiveness identifying the concept of “The people are the police and the police are the people”.  The Student Advisory Council provides students a forum where they can openly discuss topics directly related to the delivery of police service on the University of Rhode Island Kingston campus.  The Student Advisory Council seeks membership from student leaders on campus and students at large.
