Sean’s Advice: Get as much experience in the field as you can so you can narrow your interests and be better prepared to plan for the future. Do well in your classes but don’t let a moment of failure stop you from pursuing your goals. Instead, use that experience to evolve and become a more capable individual. Develop professional relationships with the people you work closest with, including professors. We are all in it together whether we are working, researching, educating, or learning — and URI has a great community that will support you. Finally, don’t forget to have fun! Experience life and tell admission committees how your experiences have shaped who you are and how you have come to demonstrate the qualities of a great health care provider.
