The URI CuSP lab is no longer accepting new graduate and undergraduate students for Fall 2023.
The URI CuSP lab is directed by Dr. Ceren Gunsoy. We investigate the role of culture in psychological processes and primarily focus on the following questions:
- How do people from different cultural backgrounds respond to conflict?
- How do cultural norms influence the way people present themselves to others, for example on social media?
- How does culture influence the way people form impressions of others?
- How is cultural background associated with mental and physical well-being?
To answer these questions, we conduct online and laboratory studies with people from diverse cultural backgrounds in the U.S. and abroad.
