BS Goals and Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1

Graduates will be prepared to enter research-focused graduate programs based on their knowledge of empirically-supported psychological processes and how to apply this knowledge to promote health and welfare.

  • Outcome 1.1 – Demonstrate a research-oriented knowledge base in Psychology including a working knowledge of key content domains.
  • Outcome 1.2 – Demonstrate a research-oriented knowledge base related to Psychology applications.

Goal 2

Graduates will be competent in intermediate level critical thinking and behavioral data analysis skills.

  • Outcome 2.1 – Apply intermediate-level quantitative skills in scientific inquiry related to Psychology.
  • Outcome 2.2 – Apply intermediate-level critical thinking skills in the discipline of Psychology

Graduates will be able to work ethically in settings that emphasize diversity and global thinking.

  • Outcome 3.1 – Be able to discuss psychology-related issues in diversity.

Graduates will be able to work in settings or enter graduate study in programs that require a knowledge of psychological processes and how to apply this knowledge to promote health and welfare by enhancing the functioning of individuals and social systems.

  • Outcome 1.1 – Demonstrate knowledge of key Psychology content domains (e.g. cognitive/learning, sociocultural, biological, and developmental psychology).
  • Outcome 1.2 – Demonstrate a knowledge of Psychology applications related to key content domains.
