Inclusion and Diversity Initiatives
JEDI Lecture Series
The Department of Psychology sponsors a monthly JEDI lecture series focused on issues of diversity and inclusion as they relate to psychology and allied fields.
The goals for the talks are to:
- Provide opportunities for discussion and reflection on issues concerning diversity and inclusion such as equity, bias, power, privilege, resistance, resilience, and social justice
- Bring faculty, students, and administrators together to exchange ideas and examine best practices for improving diversity and inclusion in teaching, research, and practice in psychology and allied fields
- Discuss current social justice initiatives in global, national, regional, and local spaces
- Increase campus awareness of diversity initiatives within the Psychology Department
We welcome everyone to attend the Inclusion and Diversity JEDI lecture series. If you would like to learn more about the Inclusion and Diversity JEDI lecture series, please contact Committee Chairs Dr. Nicole Weiss at nicole_weiss@uri.edu, or Dr. Mollie Ruben at mollie.ruben@uri.edu.
