We can help you identify and learn about funding sources, review and edit elements of your proposal, discuss your project budget, gather supporting institutional documentation, and draft and secure letters of support.
Funding Search Strategies
Start by requesting a meeting with a Research Development professional to get a general overview of the variety of programs that might fund your project. Research Development can help you get a sense of what types of projects an organization funds by reviewing abstracts of recently funded proposals. We also will help you connect with a program officer to briefly discuss your project and get a clear sense of whether or not it is worth preparing a proposal.

Limited Competitions
A limited competition is a grant program in which the sponsor restricts the number of applications that can come from a single institution. To ensure that URI doesn’t exceed the permitted number of applications, principle investigators must contact Karen Markin in the Office of Research Development to express their interest in any limited competition. The most frequent limited competitions are announced on RESRCH-L and open competitions can be found in InfoReady.
