Welcome to CoRA the Community of Research Administrators at URI!
What is CoRA?
CoRA is a Community of Practice and a University wide network of research administrators to support information exchange and collaborative engagement focused on research administration. This Community of Practice for research administrators will foster connections across campus and provide a platform to explore and share best practices, facilitate networking, exchange knowledge and provide support between all research administrators at the University.
All research administrators are welcome, including scientific research grant assistants, coordinators, grants and contracts specialists, and anyone involved in day-to-day research administration.
CoRA uses various tools and meetings to stay connected:
- Monthly meetings take place the last Wednesday of the month from 10-11am
- A CoRA Microsoft Teams site to share helpful resources
- A listserv to ask questions and provide answers to urgent topics

What is the purpose of the CoRA Microsoft Teams Site?
The Microsoft Teams site is a centralized location to share helpful resources (links, templates, tools, etc.) through the “File” section in each Teams Channel. We know it can be difficult to navigate the world of grant administration, so our hope is that this site will provide a platform of shared resources and serve as a place to strengthen the skillset and confidence of our Research Administration community!
Who can join CoRA?
Membership is open to all URI Research Administrators, which includes any department and central office staff that have responsibility for any aspect of sponsored research.
Why does CoRA have a Listserv?
The CoRA Listserv/Google Group is a resource for getting answers to questions from your research administration peers at URI. The listserv also provides meeting notifications, educational opportunities, and other announcements related to research administration.

When you register for the Community of Practice you will automatically be added to the Listserv, the Teams site, and receive invitations to monthly meetings.
