Assistant Professor, Molecular and Biomedical Sciences

Dr. Sally Molloy is an Assistant Professor of Genomics in the department of Molecular and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Maine and a Maine INBRE Investigator. Her research aims to determine the role of prophages in mycobacterial fitness and antibiotic resistance. Dr. Molloy’s laboratory characterizes the genomes of prophages found in the genomes of pathogens Mycobacterium chelonae and M. abscessus and is exploring how prophage encoded genes contribute to mycobacterial intrinsic drug resistance.
