Assistant Professor, Biology

Dr. Suegene Noh is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Colby College and a Maine INBRE Investigator. Her research focuses on how intraspecific social interactions and interspecific symbiotic interactions affect genome evolution using Dictyostelium discoideum amoebas and their infectious facultative symbionts Paraburkholderia spp. Her INBRE project investigates variation in host fitness and symbiont transmission in order to ultimately predict and potentially change fitness outcomes of hosts that encounter infectious symbionts in social groups.
