- PhD in Oceanography
I studied cold-adapted diatoms in the Southern Ocean with a particular interested in population- and species-level patterns of genomic and physiological variation and how they relate to adaptive potential or persistence in the face of rapid climate change. Before arriving at GSO, I worked at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR), where I participated in various projects relating to freshwater diatom taxonomy, biogeography and bio-assessment. I received my BA in Biology from Grinnell College in 2010 and my MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado in 2014. In my spare time, I like to cycle and cook.
