I am a Professor of Oceanography and my research interests are focused on the ecology and evolution of marine plankton. These organisms are at the mercy of ocean tides and currents and have many adaptations that enable them to thrive in their environment. I use techniques from the fields of population genetics, genomics, evolutionary biology and oceanography to investigate plankton diversity, evolution (including future evolution in the face of climate change) and metabolic adaptations of plankton that can inform us about their biogeochemical impact on the earth system. My CV can be accessed here.
