University Archives & Special Collections works with teaching faculty across the disciplines to incorporate the collections, primary source literacies, and archival research into their courses.

General Education

URI’s University Archives serves as both subject and experiential learning lab for students enrolled in LTI 350G, Bias: Interrogating the Archive, a Grand Challenge course for juniors and seniors.

Taught by UASC Director K.W. Morse and offered each spring, successful completion of the course provides General Education credits in:

D1: Integrate and Apply
GC: Grand Challenge


Other Experiential Learning

In collaboration with the Department of History and the Graduate School of Library & Information Studies, we host undergraduate and graduate internships / practica in University Archives and Special Collections for interested students through HIS 477 and LSC 595.
