Biography
Johanna Ganglbauer is a data scientist with a Master’s degree in Physics from Graz University of Technology, currently working within the Data Management Core of STEEP. She is passionate about advancing reproducible science and ensuring that scientific data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR).
Before joining the STEEP project, Johanna worked as a Simulation Engineer at 4ward Energy Research GmbH in Graz, Styria, Austria, from October 2020 to July 2024. During her nearly four-year tenure, she specialized in simulations of energy systems, optimization, machine learning algorithms, forecast routines, control strategies, optimization routines, and data analysis. This role allowed her to hone her skills in complex data management and predictive modeling, which she now applies to environmental research.
In her current position at the University of Rhode Island, Johanna is dedicated to implementing robust data management strategies that enhance the reproducibility and transparency of scientific research. She is driven by the belief that science must be accountable to its supporters by making data accessible and useful for future research. Through her work, she aims to set new standards for data stewardship, promoting a culture of openness and integrity within the scientific community.
