Matt Dunn, PhD, is a contaminant modeler at RPS Ocean Science, specializing in the fate and transport of emerging contaminants, with a focus on PFAS. An alumnus of the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island and a former trainee of the STEEP Superfund Center, Matt’s research uses passive samplers, analytical methods, and numerical models to understand how contaminants travel through and affect various environments.

In addition to his work as a modeler, Matt is passionate about science communication. He serves as a freelance journalist and a science writer for the STEEP program, contributing to public awareness efforts around contamination issues. Through his writing and research, Matt aims to bridge the gap between complex scientific findings and public understanding, promoting informed decision-making in environmental health.
