Research
My research involves field validating a passive sampler for use in detecting and monitoring PFAS in wastewater treatment plant effluent, estuarine environments, and ground water. Passive samplers are devices deployed in air or water that accumulate contaminants over time, and are useful indicators of the distribution and concentrations of contaminates in our environment. By understanding where PFAS are in our environment, we can better identify the contaminant sources and inform on regulatory practices.
