Research

The main focus of her research is on the metabolic health consequences and mechanistic pathways associated with exposure to chemicals classified as endocrine disruptors, such as perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), organochlorine pesticides, phenols, phthalates, and toxic metals. Within the scope of the STEEP center, she investigates the impact of early life exposures to PFASs on immune and metabolic health in children born in the Faroe Islands, where high exposure has been linked to consumer products and whale meat consumption.
