Research

My research explores the chemical, geological, and hydrological factors that affect PFAS from aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) after they enter the environment. I conduct a mixture of field work based on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and laboratory experiments to understand how precursor chemicals to hazardous compounds like PFHxS and PFOS are transported and degraded as well as to assess the presence of unknown PFAS.
