Research

My research seeks to better understand the fate and transport of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in aquatic ecosystems, focusing on bioaccumulation in benthic macroinvertebrates. This study will provide in-depth understanding of variations in PFAS exposure and uptake among different trophic groups of benthic macroinvertebrates, and aid to determine human health risks. This project will also evaluate potential use of benthic macroinvertebrates as biological indicators for PFAS contamination in aquatic ecosystems.
