Biography

Wendy Lucht is the Coordinator for the University of Rhode Island-led Superfund Research Center, STEEP (Sources, Transport, Exposure and Effects of PFASs). As Coordinator, Wendy assists the Center Director with day-to-day oversight and coordination activities in support of the projects and cores.

Wendy Lucht has worked at the University of Rhode Island for nearly 20 years.  Prior to joining the STEEP team, Wendy Lucht served as the Ocean State Clean Cities Coordinator, working on behalf of a program hosted at URI and designated by the US Department of Energy.  In this role, Wendy Lucht provided technical assistance regarding advanced vehicle technology and alternative fuels to state agencies, small businesses, large companies, and fleets.  She organized outreach events and stakeholder meetings.   Wendy led this coalition focused on reducing the use of petroleum in the transportation sector for over 10 years.

Prior to becoming Clean Cities Coordinator in 2008, Lucht was a Budget Analyst at the URI Budget Office and a Manager at The Bay Institute of San Francisco. She has a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Environmental Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. She also has a Bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.
