The University of Rhode Island offers various options to ensure that getting where you need to be is never a roadblock to your success.
URI’s Department of Public Safety is home to Transportation and Parking, whose key services include providing campus transportation shuttles, enforcing parking regulations and promoting more sustainable transportation options.
URI is minutes from the beach, 30 miles south of Providence, 75 miles from Boston, 160 miles from NYC, with Newport just across the bay. The Kingston Amtrak Station is right down the road from campus and T.F. Green Airport only 20 minutes away. The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) provides public transportation, primarily buses, in the U.S. state of Rhode Island and many lines are accessible from campus every day.
