2010 Black Scholars Awards

The University of Rhode Island has announced the recipients of its 2010 Black Scholar Awards.

Talent Development Students who won awards this year are:

  • Brandon F. Brown –  William Gould Award for All-Around Outstanding Achievement
  • Wayne James Montague Jr. – Arthur L. Hardge Award for All-Around Outstanding Community Service
  • Douglas Tondreau – Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to the University Community
  • Richlieu A. Norris – Harvey Robert Turner Award for Outstanding Service to the University of Rhode Island Black Community
  • Kathy Young – Sojourner Truth Award for Scholarly Persistence and Dedication
  • Omobola Onikoyi – Saint Clair Drake Award for Outstanding Scholarly Research
  • Kehinde Omisore – Althea Gibson Scholar-Athlete Award
  • Omotola Ashorobi and Faith Tolulope Adewusi– Saint Elmo Brady Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science
  • Jessica A. Adefusika – Estes Benson Award for Academic Achievement
