The University of Rhode Island has announced the recipients of its 2010 Black Scholar Awards.
Talent Development Students who won awards this year are:
- Brandon F. Brown – William Gould Award for All-Around Outstanding Achievement
- Wayne James Montague Jr. – Arthur L. Hardge Award for All-Around Outstanding Community Service
- Douglas Tondreau – Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to the University Community
- Richlieu A. Norris – Harvey Robert Turner Award for Outstanding Service to the University of Rhode Island Black Community
- Kathy Young – Sojourner Truth Award for Scholarly Persistence and Dedication
- Omobola Onikoyi – Saint Clair Drake Award for Outstanding Scholarly Research
- Kehinde Omisore – Althea Gibson Scholar-Athlete Award
- Omotola Ashorobi and Faith Tolulope Adewusi– Saint Elmo Brady Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science
- Jessica A. Adefusika – Estes Benson Award for Academic Achievement
