The University of Rhode Island has announced the 10 recipients of its 2013 Black Scholar Awards.
Talent Development Students who won awards this year are:
- Trystan Del Tufo – William Gould Award for All-Around Outstanding Achievement
- Annabell Tagoe – Sojourner Truth Award for Scholarly Persistence and Dedication
- Alethea Russell – Noreen Coachman Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Older Student
- Ann Maame Araba Sam – Saint Clair Drake Award for Outstanding Scholarly Research
- Syrena C. Fernandes – Saint Elmo Brady Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science
- Amanda Norman – Estes Benson Award for Academic Achievement
