Welcome!
We’re excited you’re joining our community, and we are here to support you each step of the way. There are important dates to know, technology to utilize, and resources to support you. Success starts with meeting the people in your success network, including your academic advisor and career specialist to plan for academic to career success. For technology, campus resources, and next steps in your transition, start with the URI Gateway.

Course Registration Information
Registration Date
November 14
Registration begins November 14th and continues through the start of the semester. Register via e-Campus after your advising appointment.
About URI Advising & Registration
Course registration is an important step in your transition to URI. As a transfer student, your advisor will help you review your transfer credits, explain how they apply to your degree program, and plan the best path forward. Together, you will select and enroll in classes that keep you on track for graduation. Meeting with your advisor is also an opportunity to discuss majors and minors, explore campus resources, and address any questions about academic policies or requirements. Regular advising ensures you are making informed choices and staying on track.
Explore academic and faculty advising support by major or schedule an appointment with your academic advisor via Starfish. (Students generally gain Starfish access 1–2 business days after submitting their deposit.) If you need assistance, please call 401-874-2993.
Learn About Your Resources
Are you concerned about the transition to URI? Transfer students have the option to enroll in URI101, a seminar (1-credit) designed to help you acclimate to URI, learn about campus resources, meet other transfer students, and build an academic plan. Enrollment is required if you have fewer than 24 transfer credits. Sections are open now in e-Campus, and if you need assistance enrolling, please contact John Rooney at rooney@uri.edu.
Disability, Access & Inclusion
Students who are seeking disability-related, reasonable accommodations for housing, academic, or transportation needs, should contact the office of Disability, Access, and Inclusion to start the eligibility intake process as soon as possible.
Center for Career and Experiential Education (CCEE)
The Center for Career & Experiential Education (CCEE) helps you explore internships, on-campus jobs, and other hands-on learning experiences that connect directly to your studies. Meet with a career specialist for résumé reviews, job search support, and interview preparation, while also taking advantage of events designed to strengthen your professional development. We encourage you to get involved early—your first semester is the perfect time to begin exploring opportunities and building connections.
URI J-Term: January 2–17, 2026
J-Term is a great way for transfer students to catch up or make up credits that didn’t transfer, all while staying on track for graduation. In just three weeks, you can complete a URI course and lighten your spring or future semester workload. Explore available courses in the URI J-Term Course Finder and plan your schedule today. To enroll in URI J-Term 2026, follow the steps in the New Student Registration Guide. For assistance, visit URI J Term Support
