Student Veteran Educational Support Fund

2021-2022 URI Student Veteran Educational Support Fund

The University of Rhode Island recognizes that many students, including student Veterans and current service members, experience financial hardships that make it difficult to stay on track to achieve academic success and completion.

Critical needs including housing, transportation, childcare and the purchase of course materials can present challenges. URI and the state of Rhode Island understand this reality and offer emergency funds to help offset financial problems when there is a demonstrated emergency need.

The URI Student Veteran Educational Support Fund is available to assist students who are in need of financial support to meet their basic needs and stay on track with their education.

Staff members in the Office of Veteran Affairs and Military Programs can support student Veterans in filling out and submitting this application and required certification form.

In order to receive support from this fund, a student must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a Veteran or current service member
  • Be currently enrolled in a URI degree or certificate program
  • Submit a 2021/2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate unmet financial need faced in the Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 semester(s)
  • Complete the attached application

Have you applied for FAFSA? You still can! Apply HERE!
