Graduate student wins awards for abstract

Kathryn Weller, a student in the CELS Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences who will receive her master of science in nutrition in May, recently won an award for the abstract that was part of her thesis.

The abstract, “Exploring Demographic and Behavioral Variables Associated with Motivational Readiness to Adopt Green Eating Behaviors,” was accepted for an oral presentation at the national conference of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior in Washington, D.C.

Weller’s abstract was one of five winners selected by the society and she will receive a check along with the award at the group’s annual business meeting in July.

Dr. Geoffrey Greene, her major professor, was co-author.
