Our students study abroad most often in their junior year, but sometimes during their senior year and sometimes during their sophomore year. French International Engineering Program students spend the fourth year of their five-year program in France.

Semester and Year-long Direct Exchange Programs

We recommend our exchange partners because these programs offer the best value for our students. We have exchanges at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne fifty minutes north of Paris; at the Université de Rennes and Sciences Po in Rennes, in the east of Brittany in northwestern France; and at the Université Laval in Quebec City, Québec. You simply pay tuition and fees as usual at URI, but attend courses at our partner schools. As an added bonus, if you pay out-of-state tuition, you are granted in-state tuition during the time you study on an exchange.

Sciences Po Rennes

Sciences Po in Rennes, France is part of the prestigious network of Instituts des Etudes Politiques.

Université de Technologie de Compiègne

The Université de Technologie de Compiègne, a technical university less than an hour north of Paris, is perfect for engineering students.
