Screening of Freedom Riders at Galanti Lounge in the URI Library on April 6 @ 6:30PM

Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle in partnership with the Pettaquamscutt Historical Society presents a film screening and discussion of the PBS documentary, Freedom Riders.

Freedom Riders tells the story of the civil rights activists who risked their lives in the 1960s by traveling by bus through the Deep south to fight segregation. The screening will be accompanied by a discussion by Professor Robert Widell.

This event is possible through the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities and The Gilder Lehman Institute of American History.
