Entry policy for pre-licensure clinical course sequence:
Entry into NUR 203 is competitive and seats are limited. Students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a grade of “C” or better in all prerequisite courses to be considered. Entrance into the clinical course sequence is not guaranteed once meeting these requirements. Placement is competitively granted based on success in prerequisite criteria. Those who meet the minimum criteria but do not achieve a seat will be considered the following semester, in the same competitive manner. The NUR 203 class is determined at the close of the spring and fall semesters. Students who have not met the prerequisite criteria for transfer to the College of Nursing and the clinical course sequence by the end of two years or sixty credits will be required to choose a different major at the University.
Progression and dismissal policy for all programs:
Progression through the College of Nursing requires a “C”or better in all nursing courses and a minimum 2.20 GPA. Students are allowed to repeat a single nursing course as outlined in the dismissal policy. Should a student need to repeat a class or otherwise fall out of sequence continuation will be on a space available basis and is not guaranteed for the following semester. The student will be notified of eligibility.
Dismissal Policy: Performance below a grade of “C” in any 2 nursing courses will result in the dismissal from the College of Nursing. Please refer to the University Catalog and the College of Nursing Academic Policy for full dismissal policy.
