Aphasia Book Club

  • Description: The group reads a book a semester, and discusses the content; various supports are provided to facilitate your reading
  • Eligibility: Any person with Aphasia interested in being part of a group that reads and discusses books together
  • Contact: Dr. Mikyong Kim, 401.874.4728
  • Meetings: Throughout the academic year (visitors welcome before deciding to join)
  • Cost: $3 per session, paid at the beginning of the semester

Gateway Cafe

  • Description: A place for those with acquired brain injuries to interact with others in a supported environment to develop social and communication skills to maximize independence
  • Eligibility:¬†Adults age 18 or older who have experienced an acquired brain injury or stroke

  • Meetings: Weekly during the academic year (times vary)
  • Cost: None

Loud Crowd

  • Description: A¬†therapeutic group to support people with Parkinson’s disease in their goals to be understood in functional communication and maintain a healthy diet to maximize quality of life
  • Eligibility: Adults diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease

  • Meetings: Weekly during the academic year and Summer Session 1 (month of June)
  • Cost: None
