Start your path to better communication

If you’re experiencing hearing loss, or problems with speech and language, you’re not alone, and we’re here to help. The URI Speech and Hearing Centers provide comprehensive clinical services, both at the Kingston campus and our Pawtucket facility. The centers offer a broad range of speech-language and hearing services to clients of all ages, who receive treatment from qualified professionals, with the assistance of trained graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology.

Program Equity

The Department of Communicative Disorders is committed to nondiscrimination and the equitable treatment of clients and families served in our clinics, of applicants and students of our program, and of departmental faculty and staff. Specifically, the department and the university do not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, disability, age, genetic information, citizenship, or status as a covered veteran in its education programs or activities. Any concerns regarding discrimination should be directed to the Speech and Language Clinic Director, Karen Houle (khoule@uri.edu, 401-874-4741), or the Department Chair, Jean Gordon (jean.gordon@uri.edu, 401-874-2735), and/or the University of Rhode Island Office of Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity and Diversity (401-874-2442).
