Biography

Beth Bentley worked as an Apparel Designer in women’s clothing and knitwear for 17 years for companies in the New England area, such as Mast Industries and Northern Isles, as well as a few small privately owned companies.  Starting in 2000, Beth opened a freelance design business, servicing customers such as Susan Bristol, Northern Isles, Carters, Robert Scott/David Brooks and TJMaxx/Marshalls.  In addition to womenswear, Beth has designed dance costumes for Fusionworks Dance Company and Festival Ballet, Providence.  She taught in RISD’s Apparel Department for 8 years and still teaches in their Continuing Education Program. She is currently a Patternmaking Consultant for Accurate Services in Fall River, MA. Her fiberswork has been exhibited at RISD, UMass Dartmouth, Fuller Museum, Slater Mill, Smith College, Keeseh Studios and Ellipsis Gallery.

Beth is teaching TMD  327 (Apparel Design), TMD 225 (Apparel 1) and TMD 355 (Draping).
