The new AEC Speaking Studio will open in Fall 2026!

The AEC Speaking Studio is open to all URI undergraduate students. Our goal is to help you develop confidence, clarity, and effectiveness in spoken communication skills in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Work with peer speaking consultants to plan, prepare, and practice for any public speaking situation, across academic and professional contexts.

Whether you are rehearsing for an individual speech, preparing for a class group presentation, or getting ready for an interview, speaking consultants provide personalized feedback and suggestions in one-on-one and small group practice sessions.

  • Rehearse individual or group presentations
  • Prepare for interviews
  • Organize and communicate ideas clearly
  • Improve delivery skills (confidence, pacing, body language, and eye contact)
  • Gain confidence to participate in class discussions
  • Reduce anxiety about public speaking

How to Schedule

Consultations are 25 or 50 minutes, for individuals or groups. Drop-ins may be available, but we encourage you to book ahead to ensure availability.
