Biography

Kevin L. Sample is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business at the University of Rhode Island. He received his Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Georgia. He primarily researches the influence of design (architectural, graphic, and product) and visual perception on consumer behavior. His interests in these areas stems from his prior experience as a licensed architect. By drawing upon his designer experience, he hopes his research can lead consumers and marketers to more sustainable, well-designed solutions. He also researches other ways by which marketers and policy makers can have a more positive impact on consumers with some of this work having been highlighted in media outlets, including The Washington Post, CBS News, and Consumer Reports.
