Biography

Luis R. Rivera-Correa is a career United States Army officer currently serving as military faculty in the Strategy and Policy Department, U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI. Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Rivera has commanded at both the company and battalion levels. His diverse military service includes assignments across strategic, operational, and tactical echelons as a member of various general staff commands. He has supported U.S. Army and joint-named operations during combat and operational deployments across the Middle East and Europe, including countries such as Afghanistan, Germany, Iraq, Kuwait, and Poland.

During relaxation time, he enjoys attending sports and entertainment events, reading, and staying active through backyard volleyball and bowling. These hobbies reflect his appreciation for camaraderie, competition, and lifelong learning.

Education

Luis earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez and a Master of Science in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His military education includes the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Command and General Staff School for Command Preparation – Battalion Pre-Command Course.
