M.S. in Management

Curriculum

The M.S. in Management, Strategic Leadership pathway program includes 30 credits. MSM, Strategic Leadership students take:

  • Mathematical Models for Management
  • Critical Business Skills
  • International Business Management or participate in the Global Immersion
  • Financial Fundamentals for Innovation
  • Marketing Decision-Making
  • Leadership
  • Operations and Project Management
  • Law and Ethics
  • Business Integration I
  • Business Integration II

Students who have not taken managerial economics, financial accounting, and statistics will be given the opportunity to engage in coursework in advance of matriculation.


Specializations

You may specialize in Strategic Leadership, Sports Management, FinTech, Marketing (coming Fall 2026). Elective substitutions may be made with the permission of the director of the College of Business and approval of the Graduate School. Exceptional students who come into the program with a well-defined interest, as well as a proposed plan of study, may choose to create their own specializations by choosing elective courses in an area that satisfies their professional needs.

Program Learning Outcomes

Goal 1: Students will graduate with industry-ready managerial skills.

  1. Apply core concepts of business and managerial disciplines to analyze, initiate and implement managerial actions.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to develop pertinent and logically structured arguments.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to apply analytic techniques relevant to specific business problems and diverse business contexts.
  4. Evaluate the ethical implications of managerial decisions in diverse business contexts.
  5. Respond to feedback in a way that demonstrates emotional intelligence.

Goal 2: Students will understand how to integrate interdisciplinary business tools and techniques.

  1. Analyze and solve a business problem involving two or more functional areas.
  2. Assess firm capabilities and deficiencies from internal and external perspectives.
  3. Analyze the global implications of multi-national decisions
  4. Demonstrate a critical awareness of complex, incomplete or contradictory information.
  5. Work effectively with others to complete interdisciplinary projects or other work.
