Biography

Jill Olson-Crowley works for the Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner as the Director of the Woonsocket Education Center, where she leads workforce development and postsecondary education initiatives designed to expand opportunity and strengthen economic mobility across northern Rhode Island. In this role, she convenes colleges, employers, government agencies, and community partners to deliver accessible, high-quality training programs aligned with regional workforce needs. With more than 25 years of experience spanning education, nonprofit leadership, and public service, Jill has built a career centered on connecting people to opportunity and improving organizational effectiveness. Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner and Liaison to the Council on Postsecondary Education, where she supported statewide higher education strategy and governance. Jill previously held senior leadership roles with Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, where she oversaw customer experience, membership, and volunteer engagement for thousands of participants, and led major organizational initiatives including systemwide technology implementation. Earlier in her career, she worked with Big Picture Learning, coordinating national and international conferences focused on education reform, and with The Met School, where she helped develop thousands of real-world internship experiences for students. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island, along with multiple graduate certifications, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration. Her academic and professional interests focus on organizational culture, leadership, and improving collaboration across diverse and multigenerational teams. Deeply committed to her community, Jill serves on multiple boards and committees, including the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative, Times2 Academy, and the Beloved Woonsocket initiative, where she co-chairs the Economic Development Subcommittee.
