Alan Eland

Biography

Alan Eland joined the URI faculty as a lecturer after a career in management that lasted more than 30 years. Mr. Eland began his career with GTECH Corporation, a large government contractor, as a Project Manager and concluded his time at the company as its Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure at the company Mr. Eland traveled extensively and lived abroad. In his roles at GTECH, Mr. Eland had the opportunity to hone his skills at large infrastructure project management, government procurement and contracting, client relations, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership.
Following a brief retirement in 2016, Mr. Eland then joined Brightstar Corporation where he spent two years as its COO and as part of a team of executives hired to lead a turn around the Softbank-owned firm.
Mr. Eland continues to consult in a management role from time to time and is enjoying his role as a Lecturer at URI.
