Biography

Angela Williams is currently the Manager of Business Operations for the Crawford Media Group Chicago radio broadcasting cluster. For the past sixteen years she has managed the business operations, affiliate relations, human resource functions, and creative supervision for the major market 4 station radio cluster. Her career spans over 2 decades in urban radio as she moved quickly up the ranks of marketing and promotion into executive management to help drive some of the city’s largest radio station brands. Recognized in 2020 as one of Radio Ink’s Future African American Leaders, Angela has worked with some of urban radio’s biggest talents both locally and nationally with a passion for connecting the medium directly to the community through impactful programming, outreach and promotion. Prior to her start in urban radio, Angela launched her post graduate career in public relations as an account representative for Danielle Ashley Communications where she executed campaigns targeting African American consumers for clients such as Walgreens and the Dusable Museum.

In 2023 Angela launched Ascend PR, a marketing and community engagement consulting firm aimed at connecting healthy and impactful resources to the African American community. In just a two year span, the agency has supported several not for profit clients with ongoing work aimed at prostate cancer awareness and screenings through national screening events in markets such as New Orleans, LA , Harlem, NY, Chicago, IL, and Memphis, TN.

Angela holds a BA in Communication and Media Studies from Truman State University and an MBA from Governors State University. She currently serves on the Professional Advisory Committee for the Be On Air Network of Media Schools and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In her free time she enjoys watching her daughter Autumn run track, playing tennis and watching documentaries!
