Biography

Aymar has Peruvian heritage. He earned a BFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design; at URI he studied textile conservation. His major paper examined Andean khipu, a twisted and knotted textile. He is artist-in-residence at RISD for 2023 and Project Manager for Community Engagement and Cultural Patrimony at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
