Biography
Derek Dubois is a second-year Ph.D. student in Operations and Supply Chain Management at URI’s College of Business. His research interests include service supply chains, paradox theory, finance and information flows, and the intersection between SCM and Media Studies.
Before embarking on his Ph.D., Derek spent 18 years in industry. His most recent role was as an Executive Director of Finance Operations for CVS Health, where he led high-performing teams of over 250 geographically dispersed colleagues and managed revenue cycle functions for the company’s retail and PBM businesses.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Derek is an award-winning filmmaker and writer. His short films have been showcased in international festivals, and his creative nonfiction has been published in recognized outlets.
His active research aims to conceptualize the U.S. news media supply chain, exploring how technological and sociocultural changes have impacted information flow and contributed to reduced public trust.
