Biography
During Jim’s undergraduate years, he was actively involved on campus and taking on leadership roles as the president of his hall council, treasurer of the club wrestling team, director of marketing for the Southern Ohio Copperheads, and being named student director of the year while serving as the student director of personnel for Ohio University Intramural Sports
While studying for his MBA, Jim earned his OSHAA basketball officiating license, worked at Reynolds and Reynolds (a leader in the automotive industry), and gained experience as a teaching assistant for the University of Dayton Sport Management Department. While working in the automotive industry, he gained surveying experience as a customer satisfaction interviewer and took the lead on a lost customer project to better understand why customers chose to discontinue their service. At Dayton, Jim was active in research, co-writing two popular press articles and an academic article that is currently under review. After completing his MBA, he gained experience preparing for and observing focus groups to better understand areas of members’ pleasure and dissatisfaction with their credit union.
Jim has presented at three conferences (Ohio Recreation Sports Association Conference, Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference, and Association of Marketing Practice and Theory Conference). He is interested in better applying marketing theory to extend current literature and solve practical marketing problems.
