Biography

James P. Loring, Jr., (Jim) is a senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Amica Mutual Insurance Company, and has been an Amica employee since 2010.

Jim is a graduate of Bryant University and has a master’s degree in actuarial science from Boston University and a master’s degree in business administration from Clark University. He also has earned his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) and his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

Jim is a graduate of the University of Chicago Advanced Management Program, an executive leadership program for senior executives. He is also a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Program of the Center for Collaborative Leadership at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.

Prior to arriving at Amica in 2010, Jim served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts (SBLI) in Woburn, Massachusetts. He has also worked for Sun Life Financial, The Hanover Group and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, acquiring more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

In 2013, Jim earned the top honor at the Providence Business News’ Chief Financial Officer Awards program.
