Biography

Kirtley Fisher serves as the Assistant Teaching Professor for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Strategy in the University of Rhode Island’s College of Business. She was the Associate Chief of Staff in the Office of the Commissioner at the Rhode Island Department of Education where she oversaw special projects and the implementation of the agency’s strategic plan. She also worked as an Experience Design Leader at the Business Innovation Factory, where she developed and tested human-centered solutions to pressing social issues in education and health care. For ten years, she worked as a legislative aide for Congressman Jim Langevin (RI-02) and advised him on issues that included education and economic development. As a Special Lecturer at Providence College’s School of Continuing Education she taught the Leadership and Diversity course. Kirtley received a B.A. in International Studies from Emory University and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, focusing on systems change and implementing innovative concepts.
