Biography

Mark Rider recently transitioned to academia after a distinguished 30-year career in Executive roles in the healthcare, building products, aviation, and training industries. He currently serves as the VanArsdale Chair of Entrepreneurship at SUNY Geneseo, where he is responsible for developing and delivering entrepreneurship curricula, as well as managing the student incubator. Additionally, as the Founder and CEO of Accent Growth, he helps small businesses and social enterprises integrate AI into their organizations.

Mark’s professional journey encompasses a diverse range of experiences, spanning startups to the top 30 multinational medical device companies. Previously, Mark was President and COO for Modern Marketing & Commerce, a high-tech outsourced marketing and sales organization serving major clients such as Lowes, Goodman, Ferguson, Bausch Health, 3M, and Bayer. Mark also held global Executive positions, including VP of Commercial Operations for the Americas and Director of Global Sales Operations for Swedish-based medical device company Getinge, overseeing commercial operations, commercial excellence, marketing, and sales enablement.

Mark holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Empire State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Studies, also from Empire State University. Mark lives in Rochester, NY, with his wife of 25 years and two adult children.
