Biography
Michael is an attorney and a life long resident of Rhode Island who currently resides in Cranston with his wife and young son. Michael was an accounting major in college and then earned his MBA while undertaking his study of the law. Since graduating, his diverse legal work has touched upon many topics at the intersection of the law and business.
His work includes receivership cases where he is appointed by the courts to take over troubled businesses and either operate them until a sale can be made, or to liquidate the assets and address creditor issues. He also works as a civil litigator and has been involved in a number of high profile cases in this state including public employee benefits cases and lawsuits against government agencies and officials.
Michael has taught classes at the undergraduate and graduate level since 2012 in courses involving legal and business topics. He is also a certified fraud examiner and has served as a mediator, arbitrator, municipal court judge, and bail commissioner. His dissertation topic for the DBA will explore governmental pension accounting issues he discovered while litigating some of his cases.
